The government bond (G-Secs) prices staged a smart recovery on renewed demand from corporates as well as value buying by traders.
While, interbank call rates moved down owing to lack of demand from borrowing banks on the back of ample liquidity in the banking system.
The 7.72 per cent government security maturing in 2025 firmed up to Rs 100.60 from Rs 100.53 previously, while its yield softened to 7.63 per cent.

The 7.68 per cent government security maturing in 2023 spiked to Rs 100.1550 against Rs 100.06, while its yield fell to 7.65 per cent.
The 8.27 per cent government security maturing in 2020 edged higher to Rs 102.32 from Rs 102.2550, while yield eased to 7.66 per cent.
The 8.35 per cent government security maturing in 2024 and the 8.40 per cent government security maturing in 2024 also quoted substantially higher at Rs 97.9850 and 103.79, respectively.
The overnight borrowing rates finished lower at 6.00 per cent from last Friday's closing level of 7.30 per cent. It fluctuated between a high of 7.10 per cent and a low of 5.75 per cent in early trade.
Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF), purchased securities worth Rs 144.39 billion in 31-bids at 1-day overnight repo auction at a fixed rate of 6.75 per cent this morning.
