Supreme Court judge Justice Dipak Misra has released a book, 'Understanding Supreme Court Better- 151 facts you need to know', which is a collection of researched data of over 43,000 judgements of the apex court between 1950 and 2013.
While releasing the book, Justice Misra said he was not in favour of the idea that compilations should be thought provoking as there are books which are simply informative yet exciting to read.
"Some may think the intention of making a compilation of any nature has to be thought provoking and if they cannot kindle the thought, they succumb to death. I do not subscribe to such an idea.

Lauding the compilers of the book, Justice Misra said, "I must appreciate the well-directed and dedicated labour of all concerned involved with the collection and compilation of the book. This only proves the old saying 'work is a great blessing and labour awakens one from slumber'."
Senior advocate P P Rao, who was also present at the book launch programme, said the book was an exclusive and distinctive compilation of facts which were not known even to those who have been in the apex court for almost five decades.
