Bosch plans to invest Rs 400 cr in Chennai facility

Will use the plant to manufacture other products too

Home appliances major Bosch today said it plans to invest Rs 400 crore in its Chennai facility, which currently manufactures washing machines.

Bosch is planning a major investment in its Chennai facility, head, Brand (Stores), V Ranjith Nair, said here.

The senior company executive was in the city to launch Bosch's first brand store in Gujarat.

"We have an investment plan of around Rs 400 crore for our facility in Chennai. Currently, front-loading washing machines are manufactured at the facility. And it has a capacity to produce over 300,000 units a year. We now plan to utilise the entire plant to manufacture other products," Nair said.
 

The Chennai plant is spread over an area of 42 acres.
