Bottle arrested in Ghaziabad

Modinagar police arrested an alleged bootlegger and seized 400 cartons of smuggled liquor from him here Tuesday.

The consignment of smuggled liquor was marked 'for sale in Arunachal Pradesh only', police said.

Acting on a tip-off, Modinagar police intercepted a truck near Kadrabad police post on Delhi-Meerut Road, said Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna. Whilst searching the truck, the police found 400 hundred cartons of 'Crazy Romeo' whisky worth Rs 10 lakh approximately.

Truck driver Rohtash from Samalkha town in Panipat district of Haryana was arrested.He confessed to have smuggled the whisky on earlier occasions as well from Haryana to Uttar Pradesh.

 

Rohtash's son Kukoo and one Rakesh managed to escape police arrest, an official added.
