Locals in Sikandarpur village in the district held protest today after alleged recovery of bovine carcasses on the outskirts of the hamlet, prompting police to transfer four of its officials posted in the area and register a case against unknown persons.
The incident took place in Sahibabad area as a few passers-by in the village noticed bovine parts.
When the locals and some Hindu Raksha Dal activists came to know about carcasses, they gathered on Loni road and damaged several vehicles as well as blocked the road.

Senior Superintendent (SSP) of Police Dr Ajay Pal Sharma also rushed to the spot and held talks with the agitators, who withdrew their protest after being assured of action.
Meanwhile, Tulsi Niketan Police Post in-charge Radhey Shyam, constables Ramratan Singh, Jitendra Singh and PCR driver Ratan Singh have been transferred, in connection with the incident, to police lines with immediate effect, the SSP said.
An FIR was also registered against unknown persons, the SSP said.
