A bovine smuggling bid was foiled in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir today and 10 animals were rescued, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a truck carrying the bovines was intercepted at a checkpoint at the Hatli Morh, a police officer said.
The truck driver fled the spot, leaving behind the vehicle, he added.
The truck was impounded and a case was registered, he said.
