Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj says the box-office collection does not fascinate him much as it is for the market and he works towards making good cinema.

Vishal, 48, feels today everything is about making and breaking records at box office.

"I am not affected by all this number game. For filmmakers like us more important thing is content. Rest all is scores.... Rs 100 crore or Rs 200 crore is for the market. We are not for the market we are for cinema," Vishal Bharadwaj told PTI in an interview on the sidelines of Ladakh International Film Festival (LIFF).

His last film "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" did not do that well at the box office but Vishal does not want to talk about it.

"I don't think anything went wrong as the film recovered the money. We got polarized reaction either people have loved or hated it. It was 50-50. You don't know what will work and what will not," he added.

Vishal feels the film industry has definitely changed a lot technology wise but there is need for improvement in space of writing.

"Writing is evolving. Pune institute has started a course for writers. We need good writers. We need to improve in area of writing," he adds.

With the kind of a variety of Bollywood films that are churned out every year, Vishal feels the industry is in its best phase.

"I think we are in best of time today when films like Chennai Express, Ship of Thesus both doing well... It shows all kind of films are doing well," he added.

His next home production is "Dedh Ishqiya", a sequel to the rustic black comedy "Ishqiya".

Besides Nasseruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, the films has two new faces to the second installment - Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi.

"I was not on the sets when Madhuri was shooting. But I have seen the rough cut and she is phenomenal. She is very good in the film. It was hilarious film and it much more wacky and bizzare than the first one," Vishal said.
