Three persons, including a boy, were killed in rain-related incidents in Andhra Pradesh, which has been receiving heavy showers for the last two days under the influence of north-east monsoon.

Two women were washed away in a rivulet in Guntur district, while a boy was killed in Prakasam district when the wall of a school building collapsed, an official release said here today.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who reviewed the situation arising out of the heavy rains, directed the officials to pay an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the two women, it said.

He also instructed that financial assistance be provided to the boy's family, the release said without providing compensation details.
