A one-year-old boy succumbed to swine flu at a private hospital here today, police said.
The boy was brought to the hospital from Salem few days ago. However, he died this morning, they said.
This is the fourth death due to swine flu in the district since January one, they said.

There was sufficient stock of medicines and testing kits were available in government hospitals, health department sources said.

Meanwhile in Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said three patients have been died swine flu in the union territory duering the past few days.
He saidtotally twenty four patients tested positive for swine flu during the last one month.
While twenty one of them were discharged after treatment at the Government General Hospital, JIPMER and at the Chest Disease hospital of Puducherry government three patients died of the disease including the one in a private hospital in Chennai.
Rao said that the Health Department has set up an eight bed isolation ward in the Chest Diseases Hospital while JIPMER has set up a five bed isolation ward.
All the necessary infrastructures and treatment related equipments were in place in the two hospitals.
All precautionary steps were taken and education of the people through health officials teams at the level of primary health centres also formed part of the campaign now under way in various parts of Puducherry.
