A teenaged boy died in a rain-related incident in nearby Vadakara in the district today as the monsoon downpour continued in the district, affecting normal life.
17-year old Abhishek fell into a water filled brick pit and drowned, an official release said here.
The city was receiveing heavy rains intermittently, resulting in inundation of low lying areas.
Crops in nearly 12 hectares estimated to be worth about Rs 9.45 lakh were damaged in the monsoon downpour in various parts of the district today, it said.
Fourteen houses were partially damaged, the release said.
There was some respite in Kasargod district which witnessed heavy rains in the last couple of days.
