Boy fatally run over by dumper

A boy was today fatally run over by a dumper in a market in Bihar's Aurangabad district that sparked off a protest by the local people who torched that vehicle, police sources said.

The boy, identified as Pintu Kumar (10), was trying to cross over to the other side of the road in Goh bazar when when he was trapped by the speeding dumper, the sources said, adding he died on the spot.

The incident sparked off a protest by the local people who torched the dumper and blocked Goh-Gaya road demanding compensation to the family of the victim, they said.
 

The dumper driver escaped after the accident, the sources said, adding the vehicle has been impounded and the identity of its driver and owner was being ascertained.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, they added.
