A minor student has been caught by Delhi Police for allegedly murdering his 19-year-old Madrassa classmate following an argument over cooking food in west Delhi.
The incident took place on the night of May 15 at Aj Jamia Atul Fatma Madrassa in Nihal Vihar where victim Shamshad and 13 other students were studying.
At the madrassa, the students are given several tasks including cleaning and cooking in turns. While one student sweeps the floor and spreads mattresses, others cook for everyone.

According to the police, on the day of incident it was the turn of the 17-year-old accused to cook food. Shamshad was angry with him as the boy had not cooked any vegetables.
An argument broke out between these two and continued even after a few students entered the dining area to have dinner. One of the students Jamil Akhtar who witnessed the murder later on have gave his statement to police.
Describing the incident in detail, Akhtar that said the juvenile accused was scolding Shamshad for regularly questioning the quality of food cooked by him.
He even threatened Shamshad to finish the problem once and for all and began punching him in his abdomen.
Shamshad tried to resist and fight back but he fell unconscious as a result of the assault.
One of the students who had witnessed the clash informed the Madrassa staff and Shamshad was taken to Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Raghubir Nagar where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Hospital staff then informed the police about the incident and the body was sent for post-mortem.
A case of murder was registered at Nihal Vihar police station based on Akhtar's statement and the police said the victim died of internal injuries. The accused was soon nabbed by the police from the Madrassa.
