A 13-year-old boy was strangled to death allegedly by three teenagers, who abducted the boy and called up his family demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh, six days after killing him, in northeast Delhi's Zaffrabad area.
All the accused are juveniles aged between 13 and 17 years, and the plan was hatched by one of them whose mother works as domestic help in the victim's residence. Police apprehended the three juveniles today, said DCP (Northeast) Veenu Bansal.
According to the police, on September 15, a decomposed body of a boy was found at a secluded spot in Mansarovar Park area. When the body could not be identified for 72 hours, despite putting photograph and details on newspapers, police sent it for a postmortem examination and later cremated it.

On September 19, another police team working on an abduction case at Zaffrabad started tracking a phone number, through which the kidnappers of a 13-year-old boy had called up the family and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh, six days after the boy was reported missing, police said.
They tracked down the callers, who turned out to be three minors, and apprehended them one after another this morning. When they were questioned about the missing boy, they confessed to have strangled him to death on September 13 night and then dumped the body the next day at Mansarovar Park area, the DCP said.
When the accused juveniles mentioned Mansarovar Park, the cops informed the matter to the police team investigating the murder case in connection with the unidentified body.
