Boy killed as electric pole falls on him

A 12-year-old boy died today when a a branch of a tree, being cut by a man, fell on an electric pole, which in turn fell on him in Kosi Kalan town of the district leading to tension between two groups, police said.

Anish was cutting a branch of a tree which fell on the electric pole. It in turn, fell on Kaif, killing him on the spot, SP (Rural) Arun Kumar said.

This lead to a tension between two groups. On receiving information police reached the spot and pacified them, he said, adding, "An FIR was lodged against Anish on the complaint of the boy's father."
 

However, in the evening tension grew again bringing the two groups on the verge of a clash, following which forces from two more police stations were rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
