A 12-year old boy was killed and a girl injured when a leopard attacked them at Ratanpur village in Haraiya area here, officials said today.
The incident occurred last night when the leopard attacked and killed Nabiullaha while seriously injuring the girl Savtri, Acting Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Ankesh Srivastava said.
The family members of the victims will be compensated, Minister for Zoological Gardens S P Yadav said.
Forest department officials have alerted the villagers and advised them not to sleep outside their houses at night.
