Boy killed in celebratory firing during marriage

A 13-year-old boy was killed when an unidentified guest at a marriage party allegedly fired shots as mark of celebrations, at Handesra village near here, police said today.

The victim was identified as Arjun.

He was participating in the marriage procession when the incident happened last night.

The boy was rushed to the civil hospital at Dera Bassi, where doctors declared him 'brought dead'.

On a complaint by the father of the deceased, a case has been registered against unknown persons, police said, adding that matter was being investigated.

Dharampal, the father of the victim boy, is a farm labourer.
