The mishap occurred this morning in Bahadurpur area when the 16-year-old boy came under a heavy vehicle of the firm owned by BSP MLA from Rasra Uma Shanker Singh, SP Onkar Singh said.
Agitated over the incident, angry locals blocked the Ballia-Gorakhpur road for nearly two hours and damaged the vehicle, he said, adding that in the mean time, some of the protesters reached the MLA's house and indulged in vandalism.
Admitting that the vehicle owned by his construction firm was involved in the accident, MLA Singh, however, said attack on his house was carried out by his rivals as part of a conspiracy.
