Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Sadar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanjay Bharati raided the village last night and rescued Ankur Kumar, native of Patna's Keori tola, SP Saurabh Kumar said.
The boy was lying unconscious due to heavy dose of sedatives injected by the kidnappers to prevent him from raising an alarm, he said.
Kumar was rushed to Sadar hospital for treatment where he regained consciousness and told the police that he was abducted by six persons from his house two days ago and taken to several places in a vehicle before being brought to the village here, the SP said.
A police team from Patna has rushed to the spot to take possession of the boy and hand him over to his family, Kumar said.
The six abductors, who have been arrested, have been identified as Rajiv Kumar Yadav, Arvind Kumar Singh, Andul Singh, Kamlesh Singh, Rajiv Kumar and Mithilesh Yadav, the SP said.
Three motorcycles, five mobile phones, one 9 mm pistol, eight rounds of ammunition, four disposable syringes and sedatives have been seized from the abductors, Kumar said.
The motive behind the boy's kidnapping was not clear but all six abductors were tenants in his father's house in Patna, the SP said.
