An unidentified youth slashed a minor boy's face with a blade after the latter refused to bring him a cigarette from a nearby shop in southeast Delhi's Ambedkar Nagar area.

The incident took place last night when 16-year-old Rajesh, who lives with his family in Madangir area, was returning home from somewhere.

"On his way home, a youth stopped the teenager and asked him to bring him a cigarette from a nearby shop. When Rajesh refused to do so, the youth slashed his cheek with a blade and fled the spot," a police official said.

Rajesh somehow reached home and narrated his ordeal to his family who rushed him to a nearby hospital and informed the police.

"We have registered a case on the victim's statement and efforts are on to nab the accused on the basis of his appearance as told to us by the boy," he added.
