A 14-year-old boy, who was allegedly involved in the death of his classmate following a clash between them at a private school here, surrendered before police today and was sent to juvenile home.

Amir Siddiqui, a class X student, and his classmate clashed on September 1 afternoon over some issue in the school premises at King Koti Road and both of them were seen beating each other up on a footage captured by the CCTV camera.

During their fight, Amir collapsed on the ground and he was shifted to a hospital where doctors had performed brain surgery on him, but he succumbed to injuries yesterday, police had earlier said.

"The boy, who was involved in fight with Amir (also 14), voluntarily surrendered before police today and he was produced before a court which sent him to a juvenile home," Narayanguda Police Station Inspector, S Bhim Reddy said.

A case under Section 304 II (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered in connection with the incident, the Inspector said.
