A 20-year-old BPO employee was killed while three others were injured when the car they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck in the Nehru Place area of south Delhi.

Police said that the deceased has been identified as Vignesh Mahesh. Two of the injured persons are his colleagues Sachin Kumar and Saurabh Roy while the third, Sunil, was the driver of the taxi which was heading towards Chirag Dilli to drop off call centre staff of an office in Noida after their shifts.

According to police, the incident took place at 2 A.M. last night near Nehru Place flyover when the driver of the taxi, while attempting to avoid hitting a pedestrian, lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the parked truck which was loaded with steel beams.

"The car rammed into the back portion of the truck. We had to cut open a part of the taxi to rescue the injured occupants," said a senior police official.

The official said that all the victims were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where Vignesh was declared dead.

"We have registered a case of death due to negligence against the driver of the taxi and have booked the truck driver for improper parking," the official added.
