Br Manager of travel&tourism firm held for cheating pilgrims

: A branch manager of a city based travel and tourism firm was arrested here today for allegedly cheating over 1,500 pilgrims of nearly Rs five crore with some others under the pretext of offering them 'umrah' packages to Mecca at low costs, police said.

Umrah is the non-mandatory lesser pilgrimage made by Muslims to Mecca, which may be performed at any time of the year.

Police in a release said that Mirza Asadullah Baig and some others cheated over 1,500 people here by offering them Umrah packages at low rates and collected nearly Rs five crore from them.
