Bradley Cooper to be dog's inner voice in 'A Dog's Purpose'

Actor Bradley Cooper is in talks to become the the inner voice of a dog in Dreamworks' "A Dog's Purpose".

The film is based on W Bruce Cameron's 2010 novel of the same name and is an inspirational story of one devoted dog finding his purpose in the lives of the humans he loves, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The novel is written in the voice of a dog who is reincarnated several times and is given names like Toby, Bailey, Ellie, Bear and Buddy by his human owners.

"The Cider House Rules" director, Lasse Hallstrom is helming the project.

Cameron, Cathryn Michon and Audrey Wells have penned the screenplay.
 

The film stars Dennis Quaid, Britt Robertson, KJ Apa, Juliet Rylance, Peggy Lipton, Pooch Hall and John Ortiz.
