Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Ravinder Singh Brahmpura today filed his nomination papers for the Khadoor Sahib assembly by-poll here.

Brahampura was accompanied by Deputy CM and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Member of Parliament Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema, besides several others.

After filing the nomination papers and speaking to media persons, Sukhbir said that party candidate Ravinder Singh Brahmpura would win with a record margin.

Having sensed their "loss" in the polls, candidates of AAP and Congress are running away from the contest, he claimed.

Badal said the SAD is a party having direct contact with the masses and the workers will play a vital role in the victory of Brahmpura.

Stating that the Shiromani Akali Dal is working really hard for victory in by-poll slated for February 13, he said, "the victory of Khadoor Sahib by-poll will lay foundation of third consecutive victory for the SAD-BJP alliance in 2017 assembly polls."

Khadoor Sahib assembly seat in Tarn Taran district fell vacant after Congress MLA Ramajit Singh Sikki resigned in protest against desecration of holy book last year.
