Describing Brar as a "valiant and fearless" General of the Army, villagers in this district said his military training helped him to survive the attack in London.

Similar prayers were also held yesterday at the residence of Jagmohan Singh Brar, a cousin of the retired general.

Brar, 78, who had led 'Operation Blue Star' in 1984 to flush out pro-Khalistan militants from the Golden Temple, was on a private visit in London when he was attacked by four men, suspected to be Khalistan sympathisers, while he was returning to his hotel with his wife.
