Brass, aluminium fall on subdued demand

Elsewere, Tin, lead, zinc and copper utensils rose owing good offtake from alloy and consumer industries.

The industrial metal moved up at the LME amid improved China's economic data, though continued concerns about the US 'fiscal cliff' were looming over the gains.

Brass utensils dropped by Rs 6 per kg to Rs 321 from previous closing level of Rs 327.

Brass sheet cutting and aluminium utensils scrap fell by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 331 and Rs 114 as against Rs 335 and Rs 118.

Copper scrap heavy eased by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 483 from Rs 485.

 

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and copper sheet cutting all softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 492, Rs 520 and Rs 466, respectively.

However, tin spurted by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,420 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,415 and copper utensils scrap moved up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 446 from Rs 444.

Lead and zinc also inched up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 128 and Rs 146.
