Police have yet to make arrests in the case related to the brutal gang-rape and assault of a minor girl in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh.

The 16-year-old was allegedly gang-raped and severely assaulted by unidentified men in the fields of Keradih village where she went to attend a family function last week.

According to reports, she was found in an unconscious state with multiple injuries on her body. He was first admitted to a local hospital, then to one in Bilaspur before being shifted to a medical facility in the state capital here.

"Interrogation of several villagers is on but no arrests have been made so far," Neha Pandey, Additional Superintendent of Police, Jashpur, told PTI over the phone.

Police suspect some local youths present at the function were involved in the incident which took place in the wee hours of February 14.

Jashpur Police have announced a cash reward of Rs 20,000 for information leading to the arrest of the culprits.

Meanwhile, the doctors attending the victim said her condition was still critical. She has sustained multiple skull bone fractures and injuries on other parts of the body.

Meanwhile, main Opposition Congress has alleged that delay in providing proper treatment to the survivor worsened her condition.
