The production and post-production work in the Tamil film industry, suspended since Monday, will resume from July 31, a producers' body said today, following a breakthrough in talks with a workers' union over wage revisions.

The Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC) said an "amicable situation" has been arrived at during the wage revision talks with Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI), held once in three years, with few issues yet to be sorted out with stunt artistes' unions.

"Since an amicable solution has been arrived at with other groups, production and post-production work will resume from July 31, 2015," a release from TFPC said.

There will be no activity tomorrow in view of the funeral of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, as the state government had announced a public holiday.

On Sunday, TFPC had announced suspending production and post-production work indefinitely till an amicable solution was arrived at with FEFSI over wage revision.
