Brett Lee-starrer unINDIAN to screen at Cannes Antipodes fest

The cross cultural Australian comedy"unINDIAN",featuring former cricket starBrett Lee and Indian actress Tannishtha Chatterjee,will be screened at the Antipodes Festival at Cannes duringthe ongoing CannesFilm Festival.

Thefilm directed by a well knownSydney based Indian- Australian filmmaker Anupam Sharma has been aninitiative supported byScreen Australia and Screen NSWwith major investment from Australia India Film Fund.

"unINDIAN" which had its world premiere in Montreal, continued to bescreenedatnumber of filmfestivals throughout Europe and America.

The film opened across 70 screens inAustralia, with MADMAN picking upancilliarysales in Australia.

The producers will be selling the film to various territories,particularlyIndia,through theirglobalsales agents,Yellow Affairat Cannes.

Speaking from Cannes,MiiraPaasillinnaand Chris Howard from Yellow Affairsaid,"We are delighted to be selling this warm and funny Australian film. There have been many queries from India because of the Bollywood cast in the film and also the popularity of Brett Lee andof cricketthere.
 

"We believe the film deserves an audience as it portrays a positive message aboutcultural differences and tolerance."

Producers,Lisa Duff and AnupamSharmaenrouteto Cannes said, "It is a delightthis independent cross cultural comedy is being screened as part ofanAustralian focus at Cannes Antipodes, particularly after successful screening at festivals in London and California."

"unINDIAN"also stars SupriyaPathak Kapur, Akash Kurana&GulshanGrover.

The film was credited for providing a platform to diverse Australian cast in supporting roles, including John Howard, Tiriel Mora,MayaSathimoorthy,ArkaDas, Sarah Roberts, Adam Dunnand Nicholas Brown.

The film will also be screened at the St Tropez Film Festival in October this year.
