A team of district administration and police officers today conducted a joint raid at a brick kiln in the Sikri Kala area to investigate allegations of bonded labourers working there.

According to the assistant labour commissioner K N Agarwal, the team was investigating a complaint registered with the state human rights commission against the kiln-owner by one Nisar Ahmed, who alleged that he was forced to work in the kiln located in Mohammed Kadim Marg as a bonded labourer.

The team was not satisfied with the records and explanation by the kiln's manager and gave him two days time to furnish proper records and details of staff employed there, he said.
