The tin chimneys of four brick kilns were dismantled by a special squad after these units were found operating illegally, an official spokesman said.
The team also imposed and recovered fine of Rs 2.50 lakhs from six brick kiln owners situated in different areas of Budgam for violating prescribed norms and rules envisaged in the Brick Kiln Act, the spokesman said.
District Magistrate Khursheed Ahmad Shah said erring brick klin operators will be punished.
