At the end of the two-day meeting of Health Ministers of member states here on Friday, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) adopted the Delhi Communique which stressed on fighting communicable, non-communicable disease and mental disorders together.
A release from the Health Ministry today said that according to the agreed action plans of BRICS Health Ministers Meet, the member countries will nominate their respective Nodal officers to jointly form a Technical Working Group (TWG).
This TWG will exchange information regarding the prevailing systems and institutional mechanisms through meetings andor other means.
"Best practices and models will be identified along with the potential areas of mutual benefit and collaboration among member countries. Visit to Member countries will be undertaken as necessary.
"A plan of collaboration will emerge pursuant to the deliberations. This can include, inter alia, detection and notification mechanisms, standard operating procedures, risk assessment processes, response to public health emergencies and disaster, collaboration on identified areas diseases," it said.
A report will be placed before the next meeting of the Health Ministers of BRICS countries.
Azad had earlier said that the third meet will be held in South Africa in January next year.
