Bright sun drives mercury up

A sunny day in the national capital today offered a healthy dose of warmth to Delhiites who have of late been grappling with intensely chilly weather.

The bright sun pushed the mercury upwards with the day temperature settling at 24 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal. The maximum today was a significant jump from the 20.3 degrees recorded yesterday.

The minimum at 10.1 degrees was recorded at a notch above the normal. The mercury had settled at a low of 9.9 degrees yesterday.

Humidity in air fluctuated between 49 and 100 per cent.

The weatherman has predicted partly cloudy skies with moderate or shallow fog in the morning.
