Expressing outrage over the alleged assault on a Tanzanian woman in Bengaluru, CPI-M politburo member Brinda Karat today said it was shocking that such "atrocities" are still taking place in the society.
"(It is) most shocking. See, even after Nirbhaya's case, our systems are such that the worst kind of atrocities are happening," Karat told PTI here.
The 21-year-old Tanzanian woman was allegedly assaulted and stripped by a mob in a case of "mistaken identity" on Sunday night after a woman was mowed down by a car in the southern city.
