Bring government schemes to fast-track delivery system: Gogoi

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today called for bringing government schemes to the fast-track delivery system for people to reap benefits in a time bound manner.

He was sharing his thoughts and vision on the second day of the conference of the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police here.

Gogoi asked the district machinery led by the Deputy Commissioners to perform for the poor and down-trodden of the society and adopt a humane approach.

Emphasising on a synergy in the service delivery system, the Chief Minister asked the DCs and departments concerned to undertake field visit and monitor the implementation of the schemes related to the departments.
 

He also told the DCs to prepare a comprehensive proposal for upgradation of existing infrastructure so as to ensure access of all sections of people to services like health, education, agriculture and other employment generating avenues.

Gogoi asked the district administration to take steps for the disposal of mutation, partition and conversion cases on a mission mode from May 1 to 15 this year.

Reiterating his commitment to stimulate developmental activities for a sustained economic growth, Gogoi pitched in for awarding the best performing block in every district.

To ensure welfare of the tea garden workers, the Chief Minister asked the DCs to enforce Plantation Labour Act in letter and spirit.

He also asked the Deputy Commissioners to cover all tea garden workers under the National Food Security Act and cards should be issued to every tea worker.
