Press Trust of India Dehradun
Taking serious note of the attack on a police team by some men in Shyampur area of Haridwar, the newly-appointed DGP of Uttarakhand B S Siddhu has set a deadline of 72 hours for Haridwar police to arrest the accused.

Siddhu said if the culprits in the case are not arrested within 72 hours, the in charge of the police station concerned should be placed under immediate suspension.

Two police constables were attacked by some men when they raided an illegal crusher unit in Shyampur area last week.

The attackers managed to escape after assaulting them.

Though the cops received minor injuries in the attack, the DGP said such incidents send out a wrong message besides damaging the morale of the force.
