Britania Industries Q3 Net up 62.1% at Rs 100.56 cr

Britania Industries today posted a 62.1 per cent growth in consolidated net profit at Rs 100.56 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2013.

The biscuit manufacturer had reported a net profit of Rs 62.03 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a BSE filing.

Consolidated net sales rose by 10.2 per cent to Rs 1,772 crore in October-December quarter this fiscal from Rs 1,608 crore in the same quarter of 2012-13 fiscal.

Commenting on the performance, the company said: "In an intensely competitive market, we leveraged our strong brands and focused on fundamental levers of operation to deliver consolidated double digit revenue growth with 250 bps increase in operating margin."
 

Overall expenses during the quarter stood at Rs 1,654.33 crore in the December quarter against Rs 1,535.82 crore in the year-ago period.

Shares of the company today rose by 0.43 per cent to settle at Rs 902.65 apiece from previous BSE closing.
