Shares of Britannia Industries ended with gains of over 9 per cent today after the company reported over 13 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 219 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016-17.
After a positive opening on BSE, the stock further gained 9.38 per cent to settle at Rs 3152.05.
Similar movement was seen in NSE with the scrip surging 9.27 per cent to end the day at Rs 3,152.15.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 193.7 crore in April-June of the previous fiscal.
Britannia's net sales grew 8.2 per cent to Rs 2,162.2 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 1,997.8 crore in the previous fiscal, Britannia Industries said in a BSE filing.
