The UK's flag carrier British Airways has rolled out a special training programme for its trade partners in India, mainly the travel agents, to create product awareness among them.

Trade Graduate Programme, a one-of-a-kind initiative would equip the airline's trade partners with the product knowledge and network information about the British Airways, the airline said in a statement.

"We, at British Airways value the relationship we share with our trusted travel trade partners as they play an instrumental role in providing excellent service to our customers in India. The Trade Graduate Programme is an extension of our efforts in supporting our partners in their endeavour to serve our customers better," British Airways' regional general manager for South Asia Moran Birger said.

The airline currently operates 49 flights a week from five key cities -- New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad -- in India.

The trade partners enrolled under the programme will be encouraged to complete nine incentivised training modules, with each module to be completed within 15 days, as part of the whole exercise, it said.

To make the programme beneficial for its participants, British Airways has also announced exciting prizes in the form of shopping vouchers, the release said.

With five winners per module, the programme will offer 45 travel trade partners the opportunity to win shopping vouchers.

Additionally, participants who complete four, seven and all nine modules also get a chance to win shopping gift vouchers of up to Rs 20,000, it said.
