British parliamentary delegation to visit Maha in September

A British parliamentary delegation will visit Maharashtra in the second or third week of September to exchange information on proceedings of the legislatures of both countries.

Deputy High Commissioner of United Kingdom Paul Carter today met Maharashtra Legislative Council chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar at the state secretariat where information regarding parliamentary proceedings of Maharashtra and United Kingdom was exchanged, a release issued by the state government said.

Among those who were present were Principal Secretary to the Legislative Assembly Anant Kumar Kalse, Secretary to the chairman M M Kaaj, Additional Secretary of the Legislature Sunil Zore and former MLC Sanjay Dutt.

The meeting today discussed details of the British parliamentary visit later this month.

 

Nimbalkar said that the UK delegation should visit tourist places and rural areas along with Mumbai so that the delegation can study rural issues.

A proposal by Maharashtra to hold the Commonwealth Parliamentary Council was also discussed in the meeting, the release said.

Earlier, a delegation of Commonwealth Parliamentary Board headed by Nimbalkar and Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde had visited the United Kingdom.
