British PM drops welfare cut that sparked minister's

British Prime Minister David Cameron confirmed today he was ditching welfare cuts for disabled people announced in last week's annual budget that caused a senior minister to quit, rocking the government.

"We are not going ahead with the changes that were put forward," Cameron said in parliament, following the explosive resignation of welfare minister Iain Duncan Smith on Friday.
