The 30-year-old 'Toxic' hitmaker, who recently signed up to become a judge on the US 'X Factor', took up the sport to relax, reported Sun online.
However, fellow golfers have been struggling to deal with Spears's inability to play the game as she regularly lets go of her club and cannot hit the ball.
"It's heads-up when she's around. She's hit a few golfers and managed to land balls in golf carts. But she's a good sport and laughs at herself," a source said.
The singer is not the only star who has taken to the game recently.
Actress Emily Blunt also said that she is so obsessed with the sport that she even purchased special outfits to wear on the golf course.
Spears' ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake is also a fan of the game.
