Broader Left unity in rally against capitalism

Press Trust of India Kolkata
In a bid to forge a broader unity against the BJP-led union government and the Trinamool-led state government, Left parties, including the allies of Left Front, today held a rally against US policies in the city.

Left Front chairman Biman Bose addressing the rally accused the BJP-led government of being silent on the anti-people policies of the US.

Bose earlier this month had met CPI(ML) state leadership and had invited them to join the anti-capitalist rally in Kolkata today.

Both the CPI(ML) and SUCI had given a nod to the invitation of the Left Front and had joined today's rally.

"The Central government too is mum on the US policies and in this way they are becoming a silent partner of the capitalist policies of US," he said.

State opposition leader Surya Kanta Mishra too was present in the rally.

The rally of the Left parties comes at a point of time when Left parties, especially Left Front, are having a tough time following the debacle of the Left in the last Lok Sabha polls.
