A local court today sentenced two brothers to one-year imprisonment in a land grabbing case.
The complaint against R Ananth (47) and his brother Perumal (37) was that they had threatened the petitioner, asking him to register a 3.50 acre land, including an adjacent plot which the petitioner and his brother had bought at Kendenahalli village, in their name.
The complaint was lodged with the district land grabbing cell on August 18, 2011 and cases were registered against the brother-duo who was subsequently arrested.
When the case came up for hearing, Chief Judicial Magistrate M Gunasekaran sentenced them to one-year jail term.
The brothers have been lodged in Salem Central Prison.
