A 25-year-youth was arrested today on charges of raping and killing his sister, police said.
Police said on information that a 20-year old woman was lying dead under mysterious circumstances in her house in MGR Nagar last, they rushed there and recovered the body and sent it for postmortem, which revealed sexual assault before strangulation to death.
When police interrogated brother of the woman, a driver, he confessed that he was behind the crime.
In his confessional statement to police, the youth said when he returned home yesterday afternoon, he noticed that his sister was alone there. Then he caught hold of her and in the melee she fell unconscious.
He raped his sister in that condition and later strangulated her to death, fearing that she will leak out the incident to the public.
He was arrested and lodged in the prison here, police said.
