Brother, sister die as truck hits scooter

Two children riding a scooter along with their mother died after a truck hit the two-wheeler in Haryana's Ambala Cantonment on Friday, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Daksh Dhiman (five) and his sister Danee Dhiman (10). Danee Dhiman was the student of Class IV of a local public school, while her brother was studding in a playway school, the police said.

The kids were travelling on a scooter with their mother, Padmawati. They were close to reaching a civil hospital when a truck hit the scooter and the three fell on the road, police said.

The two children sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital where they were declared brought dead. Their mother also sustained minor injuries in the incident, the police said.

 

Maheshnagar police station incharge Satish Kumar said a case of rash and negligent driving had been registered against the truck driver.
