Brother-sister duo held for carrying 800 gm heroin

Joginder Singh a.K.A Gittu, who is a resident of Uttam Nagar in West Delhi, was apprehended near Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hastsal Village, Vikas Puri in west Delhi on a tip off that he will come to the locality, S B S Tyagi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.

Joginder was born in Delhi and has two brothers and three sister. His family used to sell utensils. He started a 'pan' shop in Chanakya Palace in 1992 and subsequently in 1996 he bought an auto rickshaw. His mother Kamlesh started selling smack in 1996, while Joginder later joined her.

"17 out of 28 adult members of his family have been arrested in NDPS Act cases by Narcotics Cell of the Crime Branch, including his mother and brother Rakesh," Tyagi said.

 

Yesterday, Joginder along with his sister Anuradha alias Lado were apprehended near Vikas Puri where they had come to deliver a consignment of heroin to someone.

Joginder was found in possession of 500 grams of fine quality heroin whereas Anuradha was carrying 300 grams. A case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch.

23-year-old Anuradha is married to one Vipin Kumar in 2006 and has three children. Vipin works at a footwear shop in Vikas Nagar. To earn a quick buck, she joined her mother and other members of family in drug trade, Tyagi said.

Joginder along with his associates namely Rakesh and Billa was involved in supplying Heroin in Haryana and Delhi. Anuradha also helped her brother in the drug supply. It was found that Joginder was earlier arrested in a case under NDPS Act.
