Brothers beaten up for objecting to drinking

Two brothers were attacked with knives and baseball bats allegedly by a group of men after the duo objected to consuming liquor in front of their shop in outer Delhi's Mongolpuri area, police said today.

One of the brothers later died, they said.

The incident took place last night when Durgesh and Tarun asked two men to stop drinking in front of their shop. A scuffle ensued and the brothers were beaten by the two men and their friends, police said.

The brothers were rushed to the hospital, where 26-year-old Tarun died, they said,

An accused Sahil has been arrested in the connection and a hunt launched for his accomplices, police said.
 

Meanwhile, the locals damaged a DTC bus in protest against the incident.
