A 135-member contingent of the Border Security Force was today flagged off for rendering UN mandated police duties in the African nation of Congo.
The squad was sent off by BSF chief D K Pathak from the force headquarters here.
"I would want all of you to keep the Indian flag flying high. I expect you to perform your work in a disciplined manner and earn laurels for the country and the force you belong to," Pathak said.

This is the 9th contingent of the country's largest border guarding force to the central African nation.
The squad has been trained in mob dispersal and riot control techniques, special driving skills, providing aid to civilian authorities and basics on human rights laws.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is the third largest country in Africa, bordering Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. Congo has been placed under the United Nations due to internal disturbances in the country.
The United Nations aid mission in Congo has close to 5,000 Indian paramilitary troops drawn from the CRPF, ITBP and BSF. The latest squad will be in that country for a period of one year after it replaces an earlier BSF team stationed there.
