BSF DG visits Indo-Bangla border areas in Assam

The Border Security Force Director General K K Sharma has visited the Indo-Bangladesh border areas under Silchar sector in the Barak Valley, a BSF spokesman said today.

Sharma visited some border areas and inspected the BSF BOP Steamerghat area where he was shown and briefed on the unfenced border of approximately 3.5 km yesterday, BSF Frontier Headquarters (Mizoram & Cachar) Spokesperson DIG Satish Chandra Budakoti said today.

Sharma also had a glimpse of the riverine international border on Kushyara river, Budakoti said.

He interacted with the BSF jawans and officers and appreciated the hard work done by the troops in effectively guarding the international border inspite of many difficulties.
 

Sharma also addressed operational matters as well as issues relating to administration of personnel, the spokesperson said.

He also inaugurated the Sector Motor Transport (SMT) Workshop at Masimpur Campus and held a Sainik Sammelon where he briefed the troops about the process of adopting new and latest technologies for effective domination of border.

Emphasising on the need for good diet habits and regular exercise for good health, Sharma had said that BSF was taking up several welfare measures for overall improvement of the Force.
